"From the moment we arrived everyone was great! The
fishing was really good and the fact that the kids could
catch a lot of fish from the bridge was a bonus. We
could also see the kids from our cabin and from the main
lodge.
Buds' wife, Gin, his son, Rick, and Rick's wife, Peg, made
all of us feel really welcome. In fact, they made our
youngest son feel so welcome he wanted to stay with Rick
and Peg rather than go home with us. There was also room
in front of our cabin for the kids to
play and a pool table in the main lodge.
There's a lot more to say but not a lot of room so if
you're looking for a great place for some family fun or
just a quiet getaway for you and your spouse Anchor Inn
is the place."

Anchor Inn Resort Activities
Traditional
Minnesota resorts like Anchor Inn are a special find. It
is the kind of resort where traditional hospitality meets modern-day
amenities to provide great family vacations geared toward the
sportsman. Fish, hunt, hike, explore nature or just relax!
You'll find something here for everyone.
Fishing
is a favorite past time of Anchor Inn guests - both young and
"mature." The Bowstring River
runs past our docks allowing anglers access to some of
Minnesota's greatest walleye fishing lakes,
Sand Lake and
Bowstring
Lake.
The Anchor Inn bridge, just feet from our doorstep, offers is a
great place to fish the river for huge walleye and buckets of
bluegill. Many of our guests have equally good luck
fishing from our docks and shore!
The waters of the Bowstring River system
are clean and clear - great for swimming and boating. The
river allows boaters access to Sand or Little Sand Lakes where
many of our guests spend their summer afternoons waterskiing and
tubing. A short drive brings you to
one of the many sand beaches in our area allowing swimmers, sand
castle builders and sun-seekers an ideal spot to spend a summer afternoon. Or Anchor Inn guests can rent a paddleboat and
spend hours exploring the wildlife that inhabits the shores of
the Bowstring River and Rice Lake.
The Lodge at Anchor Inn is the heart of
this legendary Minnesota resort. It's there that guests
find a warm welcome and friendly conversation. The weekly
fish fry is headquartered there and the screened porch is the
ideal spot to sit and visit on a warm night. The Lodge has
a pool table, television and a gift shop
where you can to find
the perfect souvenir of your MN vacation. And
Bed, Boat and Breakfast
rooms above the Lodge provide comfortable accommodations for
short visits or overflow guests from our cabins.
Anchor Inn Resort is a convenient place to base your exploration
of northern Minnesota. Much of Minnesota's rich history is
closely bound to its clean, clear waters. It was the
source of life and method of transportation for the Native
Americans, the early explorers, the log drive and the
riverboats. Guests can launch from the Anchor Inn dock and
follow the Big Fork Canoe Trail to the boundary waters or take a
drive to Itasca State Park and visit the source of the
Mississippi River. Outdoor enthusiasts marvel at the
natural beauty of our location in the heart of the Chippewa
National Forest and enjoy miles and miles of wilderness hiking
trails and bike trails.
Natural, historical and entertaining
area attractions provide
guests with plenty of things to do and see during a stay at
Anchor Inn Resort. And the resort's central location among
several towns offers easy access to dining, shopping, movies,
tennis, golf, bowling, hospitals and churches.
